Here are a few answers: 1. In early February 2012, concerns about a potential military action, by either Israel or even the U.S., against Iran caused high oil prices. 2. Some oil refineries in the U.S. were closing. 3. Third, oil and gas prices tend to rise every spring, in anticipation of increased demand during the summer driving vacation season.
-
Johnny: : What I don't understand is this... you hear a lot of talk about oil prices and speculation, but what about the relationship between the oil price and the gasoline price? In July 2008, the oil price was $145/barrel and the average gas price was $4.11. That equates to 35.3 gallons of gas per barrel. In Feb. 2012, oil is $100/barrel and gas is $3.59. That only equates to 28 gallons per barrel! What happened to the other 7 gallons? Why are we paying MORE for gas in relation to the price of the oil?

Los Angeles city officials are hunting for a serial arsonist in the Hollywood area.

NoseyNewsWomen: : I've been following up on this issue, the arsonist appears to be disorganized and less sophisticated. He will be a loner who feels rejected, he may even be abusing alcohol or drugs and have few friends. I bet he lives nearby, they typically only start fires in areas they are most familiar and comfortable in. I bet money he probably has a professional job too. Each day the authorities fail to capture him, the better he will become at it. He may even be taunting the authorities, The media plays a significant role, its like a power thing for him. SICK! Lets hope his self confidence and obsession with power doesnt grow and he doesnt venture farther away from his comfort zone.
